FAQ

Also known as colonics, colon hydrotherapy is the gentle infusion of temperature controlled water into the colon to cleanse it of accumulated waste material, gas, mucus, undigested food and other toxins. Colon hydrotherapy helps improve muscle tone of the colon, facilitating the natural peristaltic action necessary for efficient removal of waste and absorption of nutrients. Toxic waste build up can be the root of a variety of different health concerns.

The Benefits of Colon Cleansing are:

  • Hydrates from the Inside Out
  • Makes the Digestive System More Effective
  • Maintain Regularity and Homeostasis
  • Can Kickstart Weight Loss
  • Increases Energy
  • Improves Concentration
  • Increases the Body’s Absorption of Vitamins and Minerals
  • Maintains Ph Balance in the Blood Stream
  • Improves the Whole Body Well Being and Immune System
  • Thorough Pre-Op for a Colonoscopy
  • May Decrease Menstrual Cramps
  • Maintains a Longer Lasting Chiropractic Adjustment
  • May Decrease Prostate Pressure and Urinary Frequency

A colonic session is a comfortable experience for most people;. Techniques utilized allow a small amount of water to flow into the colon, gently stimulating the colon’s natural peristaltic action to release waste. The inflow of a small amount of water and the release of water may be repeated several times. The removal of waste should encourage better colon function and elimination.

During a session, most clothing can be kept on with a drape or gown covering the body to ensure modesty. Your dignity is always maintained.

The colon, along with the skin, kidneys, and lungs, is a major organ of elimination of toxins and waste. If bowel movements are irregular, waste products and toxins can build up. These accumulated poisons are often reabsorbed into the blood stream where they may be carried to other tissues and organs of the body, compromising our health.

A colonic is much more gentle and thorough than an enema. Colonics are more gentle, use temperature controlled water, and are cleaner since all the waste is removed through a tube. It is more safe to use than laxatives since no drugs are involved and thus no potential harmful side effects. Colonics actually hydrate the colon and your body.

There are two types of equipment available for administering colonics: Open and closed systems. In an open system, a small tube is used    to inject the slow flow of water into the colon, and the waste exits around the tube and down into a basin similar to a toilet. In a closed system, a tube is used to inject water into the colon, and the waste exits out of that same larger tube. A therapist sits with you in a closed colonic session. When the colon is filled & pressure reaches maximum levels, the therapist manually drains the colon back through the hose. There’s no odor as all the waste removed stays enclosed in the tube and moves out into the sewer via a closed plumbing system.
